South Dublin Branch Hands On

There was some discussion on IBN-L recently following the discovery that "Birds of Ireland" by Ussher & Warren (1900) is available as a download in Word format on the Waterford County Library site (8.4 MB). This prompted others to enquire about the availability of "Migration of Birds as Observed at Irish Lighthouses and Lightships" by Barrington also in 1900. While it appears that this is unavailable online and nearly so in the flesh (There were only 300/350 [I can't remember which is correct] copies produced and many of them were torn up for loo paper in some of the lighthouses [or so legend has it] - Eric Dempsey), it was an incentive to put this rough "work-in-progress" list of the principle Irish birding books on line - B.G. 03.2004
